Clergy Services

It sometimes becomes difficult to find pagan clergy to perform the rituals of life that we all go through. While by no means do all people experience the same passages, it is comforting to find those that can understand our spiritual need from a pagan perspective. It is also understood that there is no one person that will be perfect for everyone. Because of that The Fey Dragon has compiled a listing of pagan clergy, the services that they provide, and where they are located or willing to travel to. A listing and brief explaination of each ritual/service is provided. Several clergy are listed. Discussing ahead of time the rituals and ceremonies with a clergy is essential. Discussion is the only way to make sure that the beliefs and energies of the clergy are what you are looking for and are comfortable with.

Not all clergy perform all services and any fees requested are negotiated strictly between the clergy and the individual(s)and are not set nor collected by The Fey Dragon. Any required doucmentation or certifications to perform the services offered are the sole responsibility of the clergy and not of The Fey Dragon. We suggest that you inquire about fees and authority to perform services prior to entering into any agreement.

Handfasting/Wedding - Handfasting traditionally was the word used to describe a trial-marriage ceremony, during which couples were literally bound together. The handfasting was a temporary agreement that expired after a year and a day. However, it could be made permanent at that time if both partners agreed. Today, handfasting is a pagan wedding. The main participants are literally bound together at the wrist to show the committment that they have made to each other. Quite often this includes the jumping of a broom to symbolize entering into a new life together. Handfastings are not limited to heterosexual couples.  LGBT and poly-relationships are also consecrated through handfasting by clergy in accordance with their own belief systems. Any and all relationship types should be discussed with your clergy of choice in order to understand each other's philosphies and comfort levels.

Handparting - Not all relationships last and the magical bonds that tied couples together in a handfasting sometimes need to be undone. A handparting literally does just that. In the tradition of the handfasting, this ceremony is for those that have traversed beyond the year and a day and wish to be released from the magic that they created in the original ritual. It is by no means a legal or mundane divorce and like any ritual or magic should not be performed lightly. This is a magical parting of the ways in order for each person to begin walking their indiviual path once more.

House Blessing - We do not always know what or who lived in the homes that we move into. Asking for a blessing for love, happiness, and prosperity for the places in which we dwell is always a wonderful way to begin, or continue, to interact with the energies of our homes. These are not the only things, nor required energies, to be asked for in a house blessing. But as the title of this ritual indicates, this is a blessing to create a happy and healthy home.

House Clearing - Sometimes a home needs to be cleared of energies that should no longer remain. This could be letting go in a positive manner the energies of a roommate who is moving, the release of negative energies which are holding us back, or more commonly the releasing of our energies from an old home when we leave it. Allowing energies to pass naturally is always best, but there are times when making sure that we leave nothing behind that would be harmful to others  or ourselves requires work and assistance. This is the nature of a house clearing.

Funeral and Memorials - All things, all people, eventually pass through the veil. In this sensitive time helping the passing soul as well as the family is the job of clergy. In some cases it is a requiem that is appropriate, sometimes it is a funeral blessing; but regardless of what is needed having someone who is sensitive to the spiritual needs of the family left on this side of the veil is essential. This very personal ritual should be discussed directly with the clergy to help you decide what is best for both you and your loved one.
